GMC Wrecker Matchbox 1987 Matchbox Series 1:64 NYPD Breakdown Loose

This is a small diecast model in approximately 1:64 scale, depicting a heavy GMC Wrecker intended for roadside assistance. The body is finished in black, complemented by white stripes and NYPD markings applied to the sides of the vehicle. Transparent orange warning lights are mounted on the roof and are clearly visible against the dark bodywork. At the rear there is a movable towing element ending in a hook, giving the model a functional, utilitarian character. The construction combines a metal body with plastic details, while the length of approximately 79 mm corresponds to the typical proportions of a small collectible model. This example was manufactured in Thailand in 1987 and carries catalogue markings 329 and MS108. The condition described as loose indicates a model removed from its packaging, intended for storage or display without the original factory blister.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
