Ford Galaxie Matchbox '60 Matchbox Series 1:64 Fire Brigade

The model depicts a Ford Galaxie in the Fire Chief version, styled as a command vehicle for the fire service. The body is made of metal and finished in vivid red paint, complemented by silver elements visible on the body details and chassis. A red warning light is fitted to the roof and is the most recognisable feature of this example. The cream interior contrasts with the red body and allows the basic cabin details to be seen through the windows. The side of the model carries the inscription FIRE CHIEF, emphasising its service character. The diecast model is a four-door saloon measuring approximately 74 mm in length, corresponding to scale 1:64. This example comes from English production in the 1960s and is marked with catalogue number 55/59. Its collector condition is described as loose: significant paint loss, rubbing and signs of previous use are visible, giving it an authentic, archival appearance.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
