FORD ESCORT RS2000 Matchbox 1978 White 1:52 Shell

This is a 1978 Matchbox Ford Escort RS2000 diecast model, painted white and decorated with yellow and blue stickers and black bumpers. The model has a metal body and a plastic base, typical of this series, as well as plastic windows and a beige interior visible through the polycarbonate elements. The body features Shell and Ford sponsor stickers, with the number 9 on the rear, emphasising the character of a rally vehicle. The plastic rear spoiler dominates the rear profile, while numerous scratches and worn paint edges add to the authentic appearance of this second-hand example. The base is stamped with MADE IN THAILAND and the year 1978, confirming its Thai origin. The length is approximately 78 mm, in line with mainstream collecting standards, and the interior is finished in beige tones, visible through the slightly tinted windows. The overall appearance combines the colours and details to create an authentic rally diecast model feel and a substantial addition to any collection.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
