Dennis Fire Engine Fire Brigade Matchbox 1955 Red 1:76 Made in England

Visual and technical description: the diecast model features a compact body approximately 59 mm long, made from zamak metal. The red bodywork is combined with grey details on the ladder, bumpers and edges of the wings, highlighting the classic contrast of the 1950s. The open cab without a rear window and low roofline create the distinctive profile of the Dennis Fire Engine. The hinged ladder on the roof, supported by a frame, extends over the front section, while the twin hose drums at the rear add a functional touch. The metal wheels on riveted axles are simple and unsprung, reflecting the straightforward construction of early Matchbox diecast models. Catalogue number 9 and England as the country of production are important identifying features, while the description of the side storage compartments further reinforces its authenticity. This period diecast model is an example of precise metal casting and traditional painting techniques that continue to attract collectors today.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
