Commer Bottle Float Matchbox '50 Grey 1:72 Made in England

This metal diecast model, approximately 66 mm long, depicts a delivery van with an open-sided body. The colour scheme consists of a dominant grey shade with green details and a beige interior, highlighting the contrast between the bodywork and the interior. The interior is visible through the plastic windows; the moulded benches inside suggest that the vehicle was intended for transport. The underside features a metal base with embossed lettering: Commer Bottle Float MADE IN ENGLAND BY LESNEY No 21. The paint finish shows heavy wear, numerous chips and signs of corrosion on the axles. The metal wheels mounted on axle pins give the model a distinctive appearance and stability. The model reflects the era of the 1950s and the style of diecast models from that period. The original catalogue number 21 and its English origin add to its collectible value.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
