Breakdown Van Matchbox 1985 Yellow 1:64

The Breakdown Van diecast model represents a classic of the 1980s by Matchbox. The body is yellow and metal, with black and red details on the sides and roof, where the 24 HOURS print is visible, while the side stickers read AUTO RELAY 24 HOURS TOWING. The chassis is made of plastic; the sturdy, simple frame supports the bumpers and guards. The movable boom, ending in a hook, contains a mechanism that operates smoothly, allowing towing to be simulated. The underside features an embossed Matchbox logo, the inscription BREAKDOWN VAN, and the Made in China marking and year 1985. The rotating wheels maintain a stable position, although signs of use and slight paint loss are visible on the edges. The approximate scale is 1:64, making it a popular choice for diecast model collections. As a diecast model, it combines the look of advertising colours with the functionality of a mechanical boom, making it an appealing display piece.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
