Beetle Galanite '70 Blue 1:38 Made in Sweden Bakelite

This is a 1:38 scale diecast model inspired by the classic Beetle by Galanite. The body has a uniform blue paint finish, with visible signs of use and paint chips, confirming its age and wear. The wheel arches are integrated and the body details are simplified, giving it a distinctive, minimalist profile. The wheels have simple black rims, while the axles are metal with simple silver axles. A small embossed wheel with a VW monogram is visible on the bonnet. There are no moving parts — neither the doors nor the bonnet open. The construction combines plastic and metal, which is typical of Polish/Swedish models from the period; the lack of tyre tread and the flat, static stance emphasise the character of this collectible piece. The overall model reflects the atmosphere of the 1970s, when diecast models were dominated by simplicity of form and Galanite products combined metal rigidity with plastic detailing. Although modest, the model captures the spirit of miniature cars from that era and is a valuable addition for enthusiasts of early, factory-equipped diecast models.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
