'49 Merc Hot Wheels 2003 1:64 Loose Red

The model depicts a modified 1949 Mercury, developed in the distinctive style of American hot rods and customs. The body has an intense metallic red paint finish, which works well with the golden flames running along the sides and front of the bodywork. The open cabin displays a bright white interior, giving the model a strong colour contrast and a more show-car character. It has the proportions typical of a classic American coupé converted into a convertible, with a lowered profile and flowing body lines. The chrome base emphasises the decorative finish and adds shine to the whole model. The diecast model is made in approximately 1:64 scale, using a combination of metal and plastic. This example comes from Malaysian production in 2003 and is offered as a loose model in a condition described as loose.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
