1977 SAAB 99 COMBI COUPE, Plasto 1985, Made in Finland Bakelite Green 1:40

Diecast model with a solid body made of hard plastic, approximately 113 mm long, in 1:40 scale. The wheels are wide plastic wheels on metal axles; the model has no interior or windows, emphasising its minimalist, budget character. At the front there is a grille with clearly marked small openings in the centre, with wide rectangular headlamps between them. The window line, with a kink at the C-pillar known as the Hofmeister kink, refers to the styling of the 1960s and 1970s. The whole model is finished with a green body and black wheels. It identifies the manufacturer as being from Finland in 1985; the lack of windows and an interior points to simple cooperative production from that period. The scale and resemblance to the Saab 99 Combi Coupe emphasise the character of this diecast model as a collectible from a budget range. This is an excellent example for people creating diorama sets or starting their collection of diecast models in 1:40 scale.

Used, collectible diecast model; after restoration it is like new (without a box, unless a box is shown in the photos). We restore models with 3D-printed replacements for missing parts and special paints made for restoring model cars. If the model shows signs of use, it has been intentionally left partly unrestored to keep its individual vintage character. The photos show the actual condition of the model.

The date given in the title or description is not always the date the casting was made. It may refer to the design of the model, the first casting series or the production of the real car. We give the dates the manufacturer states on the base. If in doubt, check all information against the photo of the base of the model.
